Hey there, I saw your post on the Oral Herpes board and wanted to give you a little encouragement. I got Oral Herpes from before I can remember. Untill I was a teenager I didn't know what they were (either my parents didn't know or didn't want to tell me so I went to the doctor myself...). I remember ever school photo one would seem to pop up on my face. I felt terrible about it. So, one bit of adviice is don't forget to always tell your daughter how beautiful she is. No kids ever teased me, but they always asked. By some miracle I never gave myself genital herpes - I never knew what the coldosres were let alone that they could spread. Herpes, oral or genital is a rotten thing to be landed with but your daughter is lucky to still have a healthy mind and body. My family has a history of mental illness and I thank my lucky stars that I only have to worry about Herpes. If you raise your daughter to have high self confidence and bbelieve in who she is Herpes will in now way stand in her way. She could pass it to a partner but with education and the right precautions she won't, and hopefully she will one day meet an intelligent caring person that would be scaredof by a minor thing like that. My brother also gets cold sores and he spoke to his doctor recently and supposedly there is an injection you can get which suppresses cold sores for a long time - like months at a time. For me, I don't care about them too much anymore so I wouldn't bother, but he's a lawyer and likes to look super good all the time. I know its a terrrible thing to discover, but I think with your support she will be just fine. I wish all the luck in the world, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to send me a message.
