Close Narcolepsy
I am 40 and have had narcolepsy since I was 10. I have been diagnosed for 7 years after my symptoms got worse. I am not working now due to my symtoms becoming worse. Mainly my cataplexy and my body was in a lot of pain. I have been on xyrem since last November and this has eased the immense pain that I was in.
Treatments
- Cylert Not Working
- Made me vomit, couldn't keep it down.
- Dexedrine Somewhat Helpful
- It works mildly for a few months but I become tolerant to it. The worse side effects for me are depression and diarrhoea.
- Provigil Not Working
- Hated this drug, it left me with numbness down my left side of face, arm and hand. It also made me extremley depressed with suicidal thoughts. Would never try this drug again.
- Xyrem Working / Worked
- It is working on my cataplexy but not on my eds and I take dexedrine for that. The side effects are headaches, foggy brain and hands shaking, I had these symptoms before but they seem worse now.
