The Heather
Cold and darkness all around
I’m lying in the heather
The warmth of my lover cannot be found
To shield me from the weather
I cry out in fear and alarm
I beg you to come back to me
I fear you’ve come to harm
I hope you’ve heard my plea
As I arise sunlight begins to seep
Through the mist destroying the night
And now I see the keep
My love is there upon the wall shining like a light
His smile is like a beacon
Burning through the night
What a pleasure to awaken
To such a glorious sight
