Hi Gramma! Welcome to DS! You and I have a lot in common, besides our asthma. I'm about to retire and volunteer to teach reading to adults in the community. My boss is unhappy about my absences so retirement seemed good. Look forward to no more meetings, paperwork etc. I hope we can be friends. Sening hugs. Sandy

I have serious asthma that is triggered by seasonal allergies and cold air. I seldom wheeze or have to go to emergency room now that I have a nebulizer at home. I have had this for the past 20 years. I am now 70 years old and this year the allergies and the asthma are the worst ever. I cough sometimes all night and have to sleep in a recliner on those bad nights. Otherwise I sleep in an adjustable bed with the head up.
I have a retinal condition in both eyes that is described to me as a "wrinkling of a membrane that has formed on the retina" blurring the vision. It can be removed when the vision is bad enough (20/80 or worse) but it will only improve the vision up to 20/40 and no better. Since my vision is not that bad yet, I have not had the surgery. I read large print books because it is easier than the struggle to focus on small print.
