I don't like the word infertility I should tell Kim Hahn from Coceive Magazine (she was asking what other word we should use) maybe fertility challenged. Infertility just makes me think that we won't ever conceive & thats too heartbreaking to consider right now. We just started seeing Dr.'s about not getting pregnant after a year of TTC. We went to our General Practioner (who happens to specialize in reproduction, familes etc) and he tested my blood for hormone problems I was normal. Then he had Brian (husband) come in tested his blood(normal) & he did a physical exam and Dr. Vinson discovered that we have "Varacocele" which means the veins in the scrotum are twisted around the testicle(really common I guess) Dr. Vinson said that this can cause problems with sperm (can increase temperature). And if so then we'll operate on it. So a few weeks ago we took in a semen sample & last week we were told that we have "abnormal sperm morphology" meaning abnormal size & shape. So he's reffered us to a urologist;but since we couldn't get in until October 23rd I called last week to make an appointment with Dr. Vinson to discuss all of this new information & what it means so we have an appt with him this Thursday. I also have my physical exam in October & that's just my regular yearly pap but Dr. Vinson requested that I see him for that this year; because of our problems TTC. So I will fill you all (whoever cares) in more after our Dr's appt.
