I am updating my profile yet again. I have now been here for 2 years. DS was the first support group I joined after I was diagnosed with HCV. I am 35 now. My HCV is unusual in that it advanced more quickly than most to cirrhosis and finally liver cancer. The cancer metastasized recently but I am still fighting. I am also a recovering addict. I became addicted to prescription pain pills after a motorcycle accident. Thanks to Methadone Maintenance I have been clean for 2 years. much of my energy is spent fighting the stigma & myths MMT patients face everyday. Hi Princess, I know your watching over us always, just wanted you to know that I will need you to watch over me when I go to court, I know God save me that day when I was attacked, and know he will be there for me again, but want you to also be there in Spirit my friend, you are so very missed here, but you will be happy to learn that your site is still very much active, I receive notifications from it all the time. Your work continues to help others all over the world, just like you wanted it to do. Love & miss you friend, Mckenzie one day at the time.

Well love, let me tell you about the last Miracle God as sent to me. Since months ago I have been praying to God, to help me lose weight, and get better health wish. Well I started to drink water, more than usual, I was drinking 8 to 10 water bottles a day, in the end, I was drinking double that, so I figured that it had to be diabetes. So one more time God answered my prayers, I was diagnosed with diabetes, and have been losing weight right and left. I know you are watching over us, love, and I know for a fact that you work here on earth will always continue with all of the help through your websites, still going on. People still and will always visit your great work, towards awareness of Hep c. I you hear me hunni, I am sending you thanks for all that you did, and still doing, for us Heppers on earth.

Close Hepatitis C
I am 35yrs. old. I contracted HCV while I was an RN at a VA hospital. It advanced very quickly and I developed cirrhosis then liver cancer. I have created videos which can be viewed on You Tube as well as I do advocacy work to try to educate and bring an end to this horrible disease.
Treatments
- Milk Thistle Not Working
- Helped at first but not now. Good for HCV alone.
Close Prescription Drug Abuse
I have been addicted to painkillers for ten years. I had a motorcycle accident which got the problem started...Became a nurse, which allowed the problem to continue and married an addict, which escalated it. I am now clean x 2yrs.thanks to Methadone Maintenance Therapy.

- IT HAS SAVED MY LIFE!
- Cold Turkey Not Working
- Horrible withdrawal. Became almost deadly after I tried Morphine and did Oxycontin IV. Bad News!
- Detox Not Working
- I have done inpatient and outpatient, short term and long term. Nothing worked until Methadone.
- Methadone Working / Worked

Open Diabetes Type 2
I was diagnosed type 2 last year. I still don't have good control over it. They believe the liver damage has caused it because it is common in Hepatitis C patients. I am on insulin injections 5 times a day with little control. I also have diabetic neuropathy.
Treatments
- Dietary Modification Somewhat Helpful
- 2000 calorie low iron ADA diet.
- Eating Healthier Foods Somewhat Helpful
- It is really hard at the holidays to avoid sweets but then I have a bad episode over 600BS and regret it.
- Insulin (Regular and NPH) Somewhat Helpful
- I inject 5 times a day. Sliding scale max is 10 units which is usally what I take.
- Metformin Somewhat Helpful
- I take 2000mg/day in addition to insulin injections. My last A!C was 9.5
- NovoLog Somewhat Helpful
- It is much better when I have those sudden readings of 600 or more. Works fast w/o side effects except low BS which I rarely get now.
Open Cirrhosis
I have been a member of the hepatitis C group for awhile now. Recent labs showed extremely high liver enzymes, and I have +2+3 pitting edema in my legs, severe edema in my stomach and was diagnosed with cirrhosis & liver cancer.
