Brrr... the weather outside has been so darn chilly, so chilly that my furnace kicked in this morning, GOOD GRIEF!  I'm not quite ready to surrender to the seasons yet so please Lord, give me some warmth and sun so at least some of my tomatoes ripen!

I have been keeping busy with several projects this past week.  One of the projects I have had on my list of things to do for years, was to go through all of my old pictures and scan some of them.  I scanned over 100 pictures this weekend and posted most of them on Classmates.com hoping to find a few key people from my past.  I have already been contacted by a few peeps so, I have HIGH HOPES of tracking down a few of the significant people from my past.  I uploaded my Basic Training shot here for your amusement!  LOL  I did a LOT of pushups in Basic Training, BElieve ME!

I also signed up to volunteer with the local Democratic efforts here in my town and plan to stay active there.  I met the local National Director and he appreciated my Hippy Girl bumper stickers and mschif license plates.  We are off to a good start!

I will BE voicing my political opinions often from here on out, in an effort to at least get YOU to VOTE!  What a different country this would BE if people just went out and voted.  PLEASE VOTE!

I really think McCain's Vice Presidential Candidate Palin, is a rotten choice for a running mate.  Clearly he chose her to try and sway the Clinton Clan over to his side and not BEcause she is the best person for the job.  I do HOPE America is able to see past the games and really take this election seriously.  Our country is so in need of CHANGE!  Please do not fall for the FEAR tactics that have been used since the BEgining of time to control us humans.  PLEASE see past the GAMES!   McCain has voted with Bush over 90% of the time, do we really need more of the SAME?!

In other news, I have an interview tomorrow for a part-time barista position at a newly opened coffee house in town, they even roast their own beans there.  Wish me LUCK!  I used to own my very own Coffee House about 11 years ago, so I have LOTS of clues and I DO LOVE COFFEE!  Nothing but the finest coffee for me!  I get my beans from Gevalia and I have a Gaggia, Super-Automatic Coffee Machine that grinds the beans and makes one perfect cup of coffee at a time, complete with a nice layer of crema on the top!  Once you try a cup you will struggle to go back to drip coffee, I assure you.

I also met with my local AIDS Service Organization (ASO) yesterday and signed up to become a client again.  I had my status on hold there for the past several years because I never really required any services, but things have changed.  The intake worker told me that $300/year in acupuncture money is available again so... I AM excited to go and have acupuncture by one of the most awesome practitioners I have ever had.  I saw her several years ago and I swear I was getting addicted to acupuncture.  I could not get enough and I even had a few needles that I used at home on myself, to keep that Energy flowing.  The fleshy area on my hand, between my thumb and pointing finger is really a magic spot for me and I would have jolts of tingling, tickly Energy surge through me whenever a needle was placed there.  I will often put pressure in that area just to feel a little of that feeling, but nothing compares to the feeling of a needle there.  Ooooh, it feels so good. MORE! MORE! MORE!

My local ASO is also starting a writing group this month and I AM planning to attend that group as well.  My intake worker was delighted to hear that and introduced me to the person that organized it.  I look forward to writing and sharing with other's and getting some constructive feedback.  It is also an attempt on my part to get out of the house more and get involved in Life.  I tend to BE such a recluse some times, which is fine by me, but I also recognize the fact that I spend too much time in the head.  Time to spread my wings.

I also came home with a BIG bag of condoms and lube yesterday all for FREE.  The intake worker opened a closet for me and Good Golly Gee, I have never seen so many condoms, lube and other such sex stuff in one place in my LIFE!   She told me to just take a few of each and then I could decide which ones I liked best.  OMG!  I AM going to be like a busy, horny rabbit trying to get through all of my condoms and stuff.  She even gave me a couple of the female condoms to try...I have never tried them, but I always imagined they would make a crinkly, plastic bag type noise when you are using them so... I don't know, it is kind of a turn off.  She didn't understand what I meant when I asked her if they make noise so... I demonstrated with a plastic bag what I thought they might sound like when in use.  WE broke into raucous laughter then.  heheh (I will let you know what the noise factor is like soon.)

My pear trees are really starting to produce right now so I plan to can a bunch of pears this week.  The raspberries are out of control and I have been giving them away, I really do not need any more jam.  My tomato plants are really sad this year though and I doubt I will even get enough to can or freeze.  This is distressing because tomatoes are one of the most important things I grow in my garden for year round use.  My peppers on the other hand, are crazy and I have easily picked over 100 peppers already.  I had high hopes of making heaps of salsa with roasted peppers but my tomatoes are not cooperating.  Argh!

My husband and I are getting along much better lately and we spent a lot of silly, laughing time together this weekend.  I sure love to laugh and David can ALWAYS make me laugh, something VERY important to me in my life; LAUGHTER! I AM so glad that I let my swords down and decided to forgive him.  20 years is a long time to spend with someone to have it all end over hurtful words and actions.  This does not mean I have forgotten what was said and done, but I AM willing to move on.  It took all of my Strength and Energy to tell David just how much what he said and did hurt, but I did it.  Releasing that pain and hurt was the BEST thing I could do, rather than to wallow in it, which is what I usually did.

I AM still battling fleas and I feel that all of my efforts thus far, have been futile.  These must BE some freakin' Mutant Ninja Fleas because they do not seem to BE responding to the sprays, shampoos, powders, bombs or drops I have employed and my pets are steady scratching yet today.  I'm running out of patience and Energy trying to eradicate this issue but I refuse to give up.  I just wish someone else would volunteer to do the combing, bathing, spraying, powdering and such.  Calgon take me away!
