Hi everyone! Glad to be here on DS. Your support means much. I have severe chemical sensitivities, also known as environmental intolerances, or environmental illness. I also have a more-than-twenty year history of chronic fatigue syndrome, which waxes and wanes. I am certain the two disorders are different manifestations of the same underlying problem, probably in genetic damage to the detoxification and/or nervous system. I have a thirty year history of occupational exposures to multiple hazardous chemicals, including pesticides, solvents, inks, darkroom chemicals, detergents, laminating chemicals, stain, and water-proofing solutions, foams, building materials, and adhesives, etc.

Retired from the newspaper and furniture industries. I am now a gardener and putter-around-er. Knitting and crafts are other occasional hobbies. I like to hike when I'm up to it. I enjoy attending football games at my son and daughter's school, Northeastern University in Boston.

Sorry and hugs about the fruitless coat hunt. I find the lower scale brands seem to have less chemicals and work best. Odd, but maybe that will help your search.

Became chemically sensitive while working around newsprint, darkroom chemicals, later in the furniture biz, with pesticides, stain repellent treatments, treated fabrics, etc.
