About Me
Mom with 4 grown children and married 35 years. I was dancing through life without many concerns until 5 years ago and pain entered my life. It started in my low back and proceded to take up residence in my whole body. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and osteroarthritis about a year later. Some doctors have been helpful and some have been complete jerks about a diagnosis of fibromyalgia! I am going to visit with a new M.D. who has an awesome plan of care incorporating allopathic care with complementary and alternative care. I am pretty excited to meet with him and will update my profile with info from visits with him.

Interests
Love to garden and do all kinds of crafts. Enjoy shopping for bargains at second hand stores. I love my two new adopted boys, Coco and Chingy. We found them at the local human society and they have become our new "baby boys"!!!!

oh Sandy! I'm so sorry for the pain...sometimes it can be really bad and after the bad,comes the good. It feels like a seesaw.

Close Fibromyalgia
I was DX about 5 years ago with this disease. I also have osteoarthritis which interacts with the fibro.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Not Working
- Didn't work for the fibro but did for anxiety problems
- Duragesic Patch Somewhat Helpful
- Not really sure if it works or not bc I haven't been off pain killers for 5+ years!
- Heat Working / Worked
- Lyrica Considering
- It is helping a little now. Mostly, I have put on 25lbs in the last 3 months! Not happy about that bc my weight is hurting my knees.
- TENS Working / Worked
- It worked great at first. My insurance company denied the use of the machine so I had to return it.
- Vitamin B12 Not Working
Close Chronic Pain
I have had pain for over 6 years. It started out with back pain and then moved to other areas. I've be DX with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. I have taken Hydrocodone for 6 years in various forms. I am now on Norco 10/325 1-2 tabs daily and Oxycondone 20 mgs 2x day. I have the pain under control with the help of Lyrica and at night, Ambien.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- Worked for a Chiropractor and was adjusted daily.
- Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
- On it for a year and it did help with my anxiety attacks.
- Heat Working / Worked
- An old standby.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Works as my break-through med.
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Wonderful stuff if given in correct dosage.
- Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
- Some worked and some didn't.
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Yes, it works. Hate being on it but until something else is found, I will stay with this drug.
- TENS Working / Worked
- Worked great at first.
