blood pressure Mood
Tuesday, April 29, 2008 | An Inspiring story

Well I went to the nurse last night and had my blood pressure checked it is finally back to being low. I am so relieved I was being threatened with tablets for it and I already take so much rubbish I was worried about taking another. As it turned out it was just the stress over the washing machine and the fact that my pain levels were a 10 that day.

I also got told by the nurse after she had reviewed my diet that I am not losing any weight because mo body has gone into starvation mode and is storing fat. Fancy that I am fat because I dont eat enough! Much to my surprise she has also told me that I am allowed a chocolate bar for a snack each day! So I get to eat more and I get chocolate everyday how lovely!

My exercise is going ok of and on as I keep hurting muscles etc and having to take a break, But again the nurse told me I am doing very well for someone with a chronic pain condition and the fact that I am exercising at all is really good.

This is the 1st time I have left the surgery feeling happy its usually all doom and gloom but she was really supportive after all I only went in for my bp and came out and she had sorted me out a diet plan around all my allergies and given me loads of encouragement.

Well I have to get going I have my sister and little neice coming in a little while and my pain levels are already rising so I am going to relax! To all my friend who have been so supportive I wanted to say a big thank I wouldnt have kept going witout you all xxx

Hi Lisa, it sounds like you are on top of things, I found that some of my meds cause an increase in my B.Pr. so I am counscious of how much water I drink to flush it away, or worst case take a water pill. If I could live without all the "rubbish" and get thru the day, I would, but I think this is my life for now anyway, I am going to see a personal health care nurse next week, to help put my conditions in perspective and get into a healthy routine, I like chocolate too, and found that yes you have to eat to loose weight. check out how your body metabolizes fat, so eat, if your not a fruit and veggie person, I like to think I am, it is the fatigue that alters my appetite and cravings... then find something with them in it to start, I dont know what your allergies are, but one thing I eat a lot of is yogurt, and I drink soy milk, this helps with calcium and proteins, then maybe add some frozen fruit and make smoothies or top them onto cereal, I am glad you are getting real live support too, so necessary. nothing like someone in the flesh to hug. Have a great week. God Bless you and find something to smile at everyday. Rachel
