Close Fibromyalgia
I have lupus and fibromyalgia and have been sick (and am sick and tired of being sick) for 10 years
Treatments
- 5-HTP Not Working
- Acupuncture Not Working
- only was treated once and didn't help at all.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- I have been on approx. 2 hrs. and I am on the max. dose of 120mg once a day.
- Effexor Not Working
- Have been on for about 4 years but recently had to go from 75mg to 150mg. wanted to put me on cymbalta but have a liver cyst and Dr. decided against it. I was finally taken off and put on cymbalta because effexor no longer worked.
- Elavil Not Working
- made me sleep all the time and I gained approx. 20-25 pounds
- Guaifenesin Not Working
- Heat Working / Worked
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- I am on 100mg 2-3 times a day. This seems to help me a good bit. Have been on this dosage for about 2 months.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- This helps quite a bit for my pain esp.. In my neck and lower back region.
Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Ihave severe fatigue which I relate to the lupus and fibromyalgia and the thyroid disease I have.
Treatments
- Paxil Not Working
- I was only on paxil for awhile and it did nothing for me.
- Provigil Working / Worked
- I have seen immediate results on only 100mg a day the presc. is for 200mg the Dr. said to cut in half. It allows me to get up early( where the mornings are like an enemy to me) and get going with my day.
Open GERD & Heartburn
I have had reflux for 10 or more years and I believe it has caused me to develop asthma. I recently learned of an extension to this disease that no gastro or any other medical doctor(and I have been to plenty) has ever told me about. It is reflux of the Larynx, voice box and all the other area surrounding it It is called LPR. I would like to hear if anyone else has this or would like to know the symptoms of the disease.
Treatments
- Aciphex Working / Worked
- I had been on the only medicine that had previously worked for my reflux which was prilosec but the Dr. put me on this and alot of my symptoms have gone or are clearing up.
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- I know to stay away from peppermint and orange juice which makes me deathly sick.
- Prilosec Not Working
- worked for about 8 years and now doesn't seem to be effective anymore. Although I would recommend this to anyone who has reflux.
Open Multiple Myeloma
Stage: IIMy mother was dx with mm in 95 she died in 98. I hate when I hear someone has this disease because of all I know they will be going through the patient and the family
Open Hypothyroidism
I have this disease along with many others so I don't know which one causes which symptom anymore.LOL

- Synthroid Somewhat Helpful
- not sure what it is supposed to be doing for me
Open Lupus
I was dx in 95 with lupus and have since been dx with multiple diseases.
Treatments
- Celebrex Not Working
- caused GI problems
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- Works but only use for major flare
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- worked for awhile but then caused reversible damage to eyes which when I quit taking eyes returned to good state
