Just alittle note to say hi and see how you are doing. I haven't seen you on the forum lately. I pray that your a-fib is under control. Well, hope to see you soon on the forum. I wish you well and I wish you enough...
Jean, I am so sorry to hear of the change in your health. I'm a different sort of Afibber (permanent on rate control) but it was a terrible shock when I was diagnosed in March and realized how much I've lost in energy and health since then. I have stabilized a lot and after switching to a new beta blocker am much less tired. But it is so discouraging at our age especially maybe (I'm 69). I hope by now you've had some better news. Andrea
Let me know what you find out asap Lisa
You are right that some people have more than one procedure. I am sorry you might have to be one of them. Just remember those weeks when you were feeling better. Those memories will give you courage to drive on.
Hang in there...it will get better!
I am a 64 year old woman, diagnosed with A fib about 3 years ago, though I think I've had it for a lot longer. I have been treated medically with a drug called flecainide with very good success. Unfortunately, because of my age, the drug was withdrawn because of increasing risk of heart block... Other meds have been tried, but each has either been unsuccessful in controlling the A Fib or has given me major side effects... I am scheduled for an ablation on April 4th at Mass General Hospital.
