About Me
I'm Dawn and I'm from the middle of Minnesota. I'm a nanny and I also help out at a friend's sports card shop. I'm spontaneous and have been known to go to Walmart or on a road trip at four in the morning ... just for fun. I don't like to be bored so I need to switch things up every now and then. I'm over-organized. I have a huge extended family (including three beautiful nieces and a VERY active nephew). They're loud and crazy but fun, good people. My friends and family are my life and I'm protective of them. I will defend them even if I think they're wrong. I have a hard time getting my thoughts to come out into words the way that I want them to so I use song lyrics and movie quotes to do it for me. As a result I have tons of them floating around in my head. I have a great memory and my mind is a vast wasteland of useless trivia. I've been described as animated, loyal and trusting. My friends in Minneapolis are very protective of my small town innocence and I think it's adorable because I'm not quite as innocent as they seem to think I am. I'm a talker and have been from the moment I learned how. I talk fast too, or so I've been told.

Interests
I like spending time with my friends and family (especially my nieces and nephew), being on the internet, talking on the phone, shopping, swimming (I taught lessons for two years at the local YMCA for kids ages three to ten) rollerblading (not very good at it), bike riding and ice skating (which I haven't done in a long time but I am going to pick it up again this winter now that I have new skates) Music is my passion and I'll pretty much listen to anything and everything I can get my hands on. The only music I really don't care for is when the lyrics are screamed and you can't understand what's being said. I played the flute in 5th/6th grade, clarinet from 6th-12th and I took piano lessons in there somewhere too. I have a cat (a spoiled little girl named Stormy). I love cooking and baking. I've been told I'm good at both and people have been known to request my lasagna. I take care of the people in my life so I help out where/when I can. Movies are another love of mine. James Dean is my favorite actor. I'm also a reality show junkie. Any questions just ask me.

LOL, crazy!! The insane Seattle snow left weeks ago, and I am very glad for that. I am doing well, just attemtpting to write a poem, I don't about what yet :) I am glad things are going pretty good for you.

Close Turner Syndrome
I was diagnosed with Turner's Syndrome when I was 13 years old. I was put on Protropin, Estrogen, Provera and Premarin. I stopped taking all meds when I was 17 because my Dr. was shown on Eye to Eye with Connie Chung and sued for giving patients the medicine that didn't need it. He was accused of getting a 1.1 million dollar kickback from genetech and caremark.
Treatments
- Growth Hormone Somewhat Helpful
- I took it for about four years and grew eight inches. I have no way of knowing if I'd have grown those inches or not and I was only 13 when I started. I gained 85 pounds while on this and the Estrogen, Premarin and Provera.
Close HPV
I just found out that I have HPV. I started asking around and found out that my friend's sister has it and so does my cousin and another friend so it's great to know that I'm not alone in this. I don't have the warts or anything so I'm hoping that this just kind of goes away.
Treatments
- Colposcopy Too Soon to Tell
- Just had it done today. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (even though I did cry). I was a bit light headed afterwards and a bit wobbly on my feet (that's only because I was pushing against the stir ups so hard).
Open Diabetes Type 2
Diabetes runs in my Dad's side of the family and I also have Turner's Syndrome so I was pretty much bound to get it. I just found out in June.
Treatments
- Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
- I've switched to as many sugar free foods as I can and have given up my cola.
- Metformin Working / Worked
- Just started taking it in June.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- My sugar level is always lower after I walk.
