SO I FINALY GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL AFTER MY THYMECTOMY..... IT WAS NOT AS BAD AS I THOUGHT BUT THEN AGAIN I WAS EXPECTING THE WORST. THE LAST THING I REMEMBER BEFORE THE THYMECTOMY WAS ME SEEING THEM PUT A CLEAR LIQUID INTO 1 OF MY 18 I.V'S AND I SAID "IS THIS THE ANESTHETIC?" AND OF COURCE IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS KNOCKED OUT LESS THAN A SECOND AFTER THAT. BUT I REALY THINK THAT THE WORST PART OF THE WHOLE EXPERIANCE WAS HAVING THEM PULL OUT MY CHEST TUBE WHILE I WAS STILL AWAKE.... A CHEST TUBE IS A TUBE (OBVIOUSLY) THAT RAN FROM MY RIGHT ARM PIT AND INTO MY BODY LEADING TO THE BOTTOM OF MY LUNG. ONE OF THE DOCTORS JUST WALKED IN SAT DOWN AND WITH NO WARNING SLOWLY BEGAN TO PULL IN THE TUBE UNTIL IT WAS OUT AND THEN STICHED ME UP WITH OUT NUMBING MEDICINE.

ok pyridostigmine is preety bad
yesterdayi waas throwing up and had horrable stomach cramps it was torcher.
if you take pyridostigmine or menstinon you had better make sure you do not skip a meal or eat later than normal or else.... well you know

That must be why I get stomach pains after my 10 am dose. Never thought about it. Thanks for your advice. Sorry you had to get sick so I could learn. Hope you are feeling better.

I've been taking Mestinon for a couple of years now. Both my doctor and the warning labels recommend taking it with food to avoid stomach upset and they are right. I always take mine with a small snack and have had few problems with it. Out of all the drugs I've taken so far this is the one that caused the least of my problems.

hey lil flake..how are ya..sorry you having a yecky stomach with your meds..i hear a lot of people get bad stomach problems from mestinon/pyridostigmine..i fortunatly don't have any problems with it...i can take it on an empty stomach..i hope you feel better..maybe carry a small snack(granola bar,fruit or something) that you can take before your meds...good luck..liana

Holy shit. That sounds like a bad nightmare. I'm sorry your doctor was such an asshole. Happy you're out of the hospital. I just got out too although i didn't have any chest tubes, thank god. Feel better, little lady.
