    • About Me

Good Morning! I developed PCOS at 31 when I married and went on B/C pills. Turned out that PCOS was in my fathers family! (Very low fertility there) We miscarried our only conception. Now, at 48, I have had a radical cancer hysterectmy and am now going through menopause with the ferocity of being pushed off a cliff! Our faith and our local congregation have pulled us through this rollercoaster ride.

That slambang menopause is tough. They say it actually starts even before you leave the operating room after a hysterectomy. Amazing what those hormones can do! I had a radical hysterectomy at the end of 2005, and it took me about a year to feel regulated in terms of the hot flashes, the sleep disturbance and the mood changes. I really had to do it one day at a time. I was able to use Premarin for a little while, and that helped some. Now, three years later, the hot flashes aren't so bad and I'm feeling great overall. It just took that first post-op year to get myself sorted out. So be gentle with yourself. It's a journey!

    • Close Uterine Cancer

Ultrasound found uterine tumors... had a d&c and it came back positive. (note to self: when the doctor calls on Saturday, it is NOT a good thing!) surgery was scheduled for the 3 tumors over an 1"+ long all in uterine wall on 1/2/08. am notw considered 1A1-cancer-free! (but very menopausal) :>)
