Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
Have had severe daily bladder pain for several yrs. Currently being evaluated for IC & endo.
Close Migraine Headaches
Hi! I'm Elysia, 22 yrs old, & I've had chronic daily headaches w/the occasional migraine for several years. In June 07 I had migraine for 2 wx solid, did not respond to treatment but subsided on it's own. With it came strange non-itchy rash, severe flu-like symptoms & swollen lymph nodes. Since then migraines have gotten more frequent - 3+/week, sometimes more, once in awhile less. Neurologist wants me on prophylactic anti-depress. but I wanna try 2 go natural route. That's the short version!
Treatments
- Caffeine Not Working
- Does not work for me.
- Excedrin Not Working
- Doesn't do anything & can't take it anymore - stomach & bladder issues.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- With the splitting migraines a heat pack on the back top of my head and neck can help. Only helps wcertain types wothers it would actually make it worse.
- Imitrex Not Working
- Tried it twice & both times it made the migraine severely worse. Mostly the raw, burning cramping sensation in head & neck - multiplied it by ~10.
- Massage Somewhat Helpful
- Sometimes using a massage tool wthe knobs on it to rub those spots at base of skull where pain shoots forward when you press them can help.
- Naproxen Not Working
- Doesn't do anything & can't take it anymore - stomach & bladder issues.
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- Helps to back off the pain, but not always.
- Tylenol Not Working
- Doesn't do anything.
- Zofran Working / Worked
- Helps with the nausea without making me sleepy like Phenergan does.
Open Endometriosis
Several yrs ago started having severe tearing/stabbing pain in addition to cramps. Diagnosed w/endo thru lap. My awesome surgeon Dr. Andrew Cook removed all the lesions & scar tissue March '09. Yay!
Treatments
- Laser Surgery Working / Worked
- Still have some pain since things stay pretty inflamed from the Lyme, but overall pain is much better. A highly skilled surgeon who specializes in endo is vital.
- Progesterone Not Working
- Took a mini pill (progesterone only) for several months which did nothing.
Open Lyme Disease
Have been extremely sick and in a lot of pain for several yrs. Keeps getting worse. After numerous doctors, finally referred to a Lyme specialist (Dr. Steven Harris in Redwood City, CA). Positive for Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella. Currently undergoing treatment using anitbiotics, antiparasitic, antifungal as well as naturopathic supplements, etc.
