Yesterday my husband and I recieved a call from the lawyers that we had contacted to investigate into what happened with Keira. They had said that the lawyers for the hospital contacted them for a meeting. They said that they want to "find a resolution for this" without going to court.But we also found out that the doctor who delivered Keira was under investigation for negligence in another case where he didn't act appropriatly to give a woman a c-sect and her baby died. They also said that almost for my entire delivery Keira was in distress and nobody picked up on it- 2 doctors and 2 nurses and nobody picked up on her heartrate showing distress. I am soo sad today- this didn't have to be the way it happened. If I had gone to another doctor she would be here- not that I am blaming myself- there is no way I could have known this idiot would be covering for my doctor and that he was incompetent. The hospital also wants us to meet with administration and the lawyers so that wee can advise them on ways to improve - I guess they mean in cases where the baby dies. I don't even know what to say about that. On one hand I would like to see them improve the care of women who have lost their babies, but on the other hand I feel like fuck you - if you had done the right thing I wouldnt even be in this circumstance. I dont know its just overwhelming
