Bank Holiday Sunday Mood
Friday, August 28, 2009 | A Positive story
Decided to go out on Sunday even though I'm only 5 days into my quit. I know people may advise to try and stay away from temptation, which I can understand but the way I see it after reading Allen Carr's advice is why punish myself by staying in away from friends and good company (and wine hehe!) I really feel strong enough not to smoke.I know I may get a little nostalgic from time to time over the cigs but at the end of the day,I want to enjoy my new, smoke free life and prove to myself that I'm strong enough to resist temptation and not have to hide away.

It will be a good test. If you think you are strong enough, go for it. Maybe write down beforehand what you will do if you do get the urge. Thanks for the words of support in S&R. And congrats to you on day number 5.

Kelly I know this has been a trigger for you in the passed but it doesn't have to be......I hope you go armed with a smoke-free buddy. Personally I think the challenge can be really powerful. I remember going to a huge party atmosphere just a week or more into my quit....bonfire by the river's edge, celebrating friends' renewal of wedding vows....lots of wine....food... and smokers.....I had my best friend with me and we had a blast! Cheers and enjoy knowing you can lay your head down that evening having not smoked, you go girl!!!!

CJ,Bank Holiday Sunday is basically an excuse in most of England to go to the pub and get absolutely wellied 'cos everyone's off work on the Monday! They're always a mint atmosphere and I basically didn't want to miss out.
Shell, yeah,my friend Ali quit smoking around 2 weeks ago so we'll be there to keep an eye on each other. And yeah,it's good to know that we don't need the cigs to have a good time.
Trace,it's good now that the smoking ban is in England too, especially in nightclubs cos once you're up dancing and stuff, the last thing you want to do is leave the dancefloor, get some stupid wrist tag on so you can go outside away from all the fun!Glad you enjoyed clubbing without them.
