About Me

I am 48 years old, divorced mother of three. My children are all grown. I was in in the restaurant industry all my life, until I was unable to work any longer. I had a severe allergic reaction resulting in a lengthy hospitalization. I was diagnosed with Allergic Broncopulminary Aspergilosis in October of 2007. The treatment for this is steroid therepy. The prednisone I have been perscribed since the onset of has taken its toll on my body. Patients are not informed of the side effects medication can cause. Doctors will not share the crippling effects some drugs given in large amount can have on someone entire life. I dont know what the future holds in store for me. My life has changed drastically since my illness I once loved to cook! I collect cook books and love to think of new recipes. I also have a passion for reading . I read constantly. I love music and art, and although I once was a talented artist, I find I hard to focus on drawing or painting, or anything else for that matter. I get confused and forgetful, easily. The physical pain of just standing or sitting for to long has made me unable to cook or draw. Much less take walks, or even shop.I have not been able to return to work because of these conditions. I have lost everything to these diseases, my health, my house, my sanity, my way of life. Cushings syndrome is very serious and frustrating. It controls your entire being. The lung disease Aspergilosis is also very rare and little is known about it effects, or origion. Only that the treatment is PREDNISONE continue to have hope that I will someday be well again. I have always had faith in God and will continue to do so.
