If I knew that it would be this much trouble to get a new leg, I would have been much more cautious. I was an Iron Worker and in 1974 I fell and destroyed my legs. Both legs were rebuilt and the right one needed many surgeries, but I held onto it for 34 more years. On March 24 kiss it goodbye and I become an AKA. I am happy to become a member of the Amputee Support Group.

Interests
Sailing, hiking, biking, and swimming. I also stay active as a Riverkeeper trying to keep the beautiful rivers here in Oregon pollution free. An uphill battle. I also volunteer with an outfit (T.P.I., INC) that works with homeless men. I teach them basic computer skills.

I know the feeling - I always feel that way when I get back from Michigan - like you can do anything and take on the world :). I'm sorry I have not called...here you had one of the most important things in your life happen, and I didn't even call - what a sucky friend. I have been in a funk the past while and have really not talked to anybody....but how lucky could I be to have the opportunity to meet up with you and T twice in less than 6 mo?!?!? - Starts in earnest after surgery 03/24/08 but I have already started to build up.
- Prosthetic Device Working / Worked
- Due for surgery March 24 2008, will start with rigid socket (Plaster) with a temporary leg with locking knee. Will progress to C-Leg & Axtion Foot
