I am a mom of 4. I live in a small town on Long Island and there are very few children with DS. Michael is the first child in 30+ years to attend our school district. He is a sweet boy and he puts a smile on everyone's face. I just hope that I am doing what I am supposed to do to make him not only a happy child, but one that can reach his fullest potential. I question myself all the time and have little resources where I'm at.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments !! It is good to have others to talk to and get opinions from. This parenting thing can be hard sometimes ;-) Katie xx
I just had to send you a hug after reading your post in the downs group!! 4 kids under 9 !!! Wonderwoman should be your screen name!!!! All that built in stimulation for Micheal having 3 sibs !!! Your certainly an inspiration to us all !! Katie xx
OMG you are so right about those elevators. We are home and DJ is such an easy going baby. He pretty much sleeps a good portion of the day and night. I guess that is normal for a newborn.
Hello! Michael is so handsome, My daughter has ds she is called Olivia, she has a wonderful smile too, how all children are so wonderful xxHazelxx
Your profile pic of your young man brought a big smile to my face! He is such a cutie!!
Mom to 4 Beautiful kids, 2,4,6&8. My 6 Year old has DS and is a great joy.
My daughter since birth has had anxiety issues, she couldn't even be put in the nursery. At 3 months if she didn't know you you could not have eye contact with her or she would scream. I would tell people please don't touch or look at her. She just started kindergarten and chews a lot of gum. She is very quiet, not a lot of confidence and the teacher is not very supportive. Picks and chews her fingers and has a very hard time with bed and new faces.
