the community theatre-style group my hubbie and I are part of out of Arlington, MA (considered to actually be from Boston- but practices take place in Arlington generally) were asked only two days ago to perform last night at Mohegan Sun Casino in CT... I am not sure if you know how amazing that is... don't know how long the casinos have been around, to know if you know about them or not.... this is the same place that has had Yanni, The Village People, Trans-siberian orchestra, Linkin Park, Godsmack, etc. (couldn't even begin to name all of the performers)perform for them. It was AWESOME (I do not like the show we do, but I DO like the performing part, and the interaction with audience). We PACKED the "house" too!!! On Halloween Night!!!!!
And as an added bonus nearly all of the workers that were assigned to the show had also not seen it before so they were able to get a show out of it that was entertaining. It was actually really fun talking to some of the staff afterwards. A lot of them were asking a bunch of questions of me about the show, the cast, etc. (I was actually the very last of the cast to leave the dressing area to go home- because hubbie went to go get the car from the spot he parked (literally as far away as he could have parked in the complex)- and when I offered to wait outside one of the staff actually went out of his way to get me to stay to talk to and ask questions of.
I am just SO psyched that we got to play on the same stage as so many big names, so many big groups. And all the cast got backstage passes that stated where, when, what cast, and what show- so I have PROOF for any of my coworkers/friends that might try to say I am lying!!!!!
