Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
I was diagnosed with RA when I was 14 years old. I'm 21 now and still have the disease which has prevented me from my dream of professional soccer (I had a tryout scheduled for April in Sweden that now I can't go to). More importantly though, I'm 21, in college, and have learnt to accept RA. My happiness will never again rest on the loins of this disease.
Treatments
- Arava Not Working
- It worked for 4 months alongside Indocin and then stopped abruptly
- Celebrex Not Working
- Never stood a chance.
- Enbrel Not Working
- Worked for 3 doses and then my buddy grew anti-bodies to it.
- Folic Acid Somewhat Helpful
- I'm taking it to help grow back some hair as some of the side effects of the arava were hair loss.
- Humira Not Working
- Worked for 8 months before my body grew immune to it.
- Indocin Working / Worked
- Along with Arava this worked great until it ripped the lining of my stomach and intestines making me extremely sick for the last month.
- Methotrexate Too Soon to Tell
- I took this alone when I was a lot younger and didn't work. I'm about to start it again with the Remicade.
- Prednisone Not Working
- It worked real well except as soon as I got off the prednisone it stopped working.
- Remicade Somewhat Helpful
- I mean, it's working, and I get a great nap out of the infusion.
- Voltaren Too Soon to Tell
- NSAIDs stopped working on my arthritis and actually caused some serious stomach problems.
