INSOMNIA

Middle of the Night, I can not sleep

Troubled vigil I must keep

When, Oh when, will sanity come

When will my pillow be my home

Peaceful dreams will just not be

Only Nightmares come to me

Will I ever sleep at night

Or even doze in the daylight

I pray there is help for me

I pray this for my sanity

I pray to sleep with dark of night

And wake to face the morning light

You came to me so subtly

I hardly knew you were here

Maybe it was a smell I smelled before

Maybe memories, the bad and the dear

Your entrance, you can come quietly

Or you can over take me all at once

But soon I know that you are here

Nothing I can do, your intentions are very clear

You want to dance with my mind and me

You want to lead me by your side

I fight against these feelings

It's no use, you come so well disguised

I try to protect myself from you

I don't want or need your presence

I turn away but you keep on

Breaking through all my best defenses

I would cut you out with a jagged knife

If I thought it would kill you just for a day

You use whatever suits you to get to me

The ones I love most, you use everyone
