Pup Sitting/Mum Away/Cold & Wintery Mood
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 | A General Update story

So, I am back writing away on this thing. I find it weirdly therapeutic; a relase!

Anyway, things are trundling along as they do. The pup sitting is progressing along. They are dear little doggies... I can't complain in that respect and I am getting a bit used to being on my own out in the middle of nowhere. I have been so very tired recently... another bout of the extreme exhaustion (not just my normal level of fatigue... if this makes any sense let me know) and I have even fallen asleep with them several times, which feels a bit comic.

In good news, I have FINALLY managed to get my bedroom looking neat and tidy. It is essential to me really that it looks like this as it is meant to be a haven for sleeping and resting, but for most of my life it has looked less than tidy. Not only is it my resting place, but it is the only area of space I have that is just mine... everywhere else I can go in is communal, whereas this is my area where I can do what I want etc. The mess is worse when I am working as I just come home and chuck stuff around and get in bed. So, I took out a day to just do as much as I could and I still have drawers that need going through, old papers and things to shred etc, but the actual visual perspective is fine now and I feel a lot happier about being in the room. Plus, I even managed to get behind my bed and get rid of the dust.

My mum has gone away to visit her friend abroad for a few days - back next Monday. I don't mind so much, but it's a bit draining really, as now I have to do everything in the house and then the puppy lady changed the day she wants me from Tuesday to Monday next week, so I am working tomorrow, then day off (which I have to go on bus to town to do some errands that can't wait any longer) and then 2 days to recover before back working again... and on those 2 days doubtless I will be doing cleaning, washing, cooking BLAAAAAAAAAAAH. God I hate running a house... I am so tired, I just wanna get in bed and not come out! I really hate cooking for people as well... I don't mind (I actually like it) when it's optional, but knowing people are relying on you to think of something to cook/eat is so draining.

Anyway, in bad news, I have not heard from the hospital yet. There has been a postal strike and there is going to be another one this week, so chances are that if they have sent me a letter... I might not even get it or it might be very delayed. That being said, it will be 4 weeks since I was referred by my GP on Monday, so if I have not heard anything by then, I will be calling the Endo department at the hospital to ask them if they are aware of me and has an appointment been made. I'll be honest, I am very tired of waiting...it's not the waiting for the appointment that bothers me, it's not knowing if I have even been referred (I don't trust the doctors at all anymore) and not knowing when my appointment is. Even if they said, you have an appointment, but it's in December (or whenever) at least I would have a date. For some reason that makes a big difference to my mindset.

So now I am going to go off and make myself a drink (non-alcoholic) and think of something to cook for dinner LOL.

I cleaned behind my bed once. Under all the dust I found a newspaper with the headline Lincoln Shot at Ford Theater.

Just kidding, I clean back there every year whether it needs it or not.

With the postal strike interfering, sounds like you have a very good justification to call the medical people and pester them as much as you want.

I had to take care of my invalid dad for years and years...sometimes I felt like I could not take another step without collapsing...but I made it somehow. You will find the strength to take care of the house and cook the meals. It's like a lot of the things we do...it's no fun, it hurts a lot, but we get it done.

I will do pretty well for a while when it comes to meals and then slip away. Monday was pancakes, last night was frozen chicken nuggets, and tonight is still under consideration. There's a potato bar at the Church for Harvest dinner and I might just tell the family to go get a potato if they are hungry. Yes, I've decided I like that idea and will go with that. Planning, shopping, cooking... it takes energy.

    take care.
