I had a bizarre, rather spooky experience.

I was relaxing after dinner when I started to smell something like something was heating up  and about to start burning. It was as if I'd left the oven on--but since I'd had microwave pizza for dinner, I knew I hadn't.

Then I wondered if maybe my computer or the monitor was overheating from overuse--since Lord knows since I finally got the Internet I've been using them quite a lot.

So I checked the computer and monitor out and they were cool. The smell was getting stronger, though. Then I checked the oven and it was cool.

But then I noticed that the two left-hand burners on the stove somehow had been turned up to High. Since I hadn't cooked anything on top of the stove, I found this strange.

So I wonder if my cat Lucky (who's black, with green eyes, and looks like a Halloween cat when he arches his back) could have accidentally turned the knobs.

Unless (well, a lot of old people live in this building, and old people tend to die if they haven't already) this apartment is haunted........

I'll have to get in the habit of keeping Lucky in my "master suite" (where he will have litter box access if he needs it) overnight when I'm in bed and see if that happens again.
