Hi friend! I can relate to the struggle with Tinnitus. It breaks my heart that you feel it is more bothersome than cancer. Hope that you are feeling well. Becca

    • Close Tinnitus

I have had Tinnitus for about 3 years from a noise injury. I also am a Registered Nurse, retired due to having terminal cancer.

      Treatments

      Neurontin Working / Worked
Has been of little help-I take 300 mg three times a day.
      White Noise Working / Worked
      24-7 Helpful
      Xanax Working / Worked
I find it somewhat helpful. It helps me sleep at night.
    • Close Pancreatic Cancer

I am an RN with Pancreatic Cancer. I have a rare type-Neuroendocrine carcinoid Pancreatic Cancer. I was diagnosed in May 2007. I have had 4 rounds of chemo. I now have myelodysplasia-reduced white and platelets-permanently-so I cannot have further chemotherapy. I am on hospice but doing well considering everything.

      Treatments

      Chemotherapy Working / Worked
Difficult time-but knocked back my cancer by 50%. It gave me myelodysplasia-so my white count and platelets are permanently low. I am off of Hospice Care.-but may return if my condition worsens
      Cisplatin Working / Worked
Helped some. I was on Carboplatinol-a derivative of Cisplatin.
    • Open Dry Eyes

I am an RN with terminal pancreatic cancer and am on hospice. As the result of chemotherapy in May 2007, I developed severe dry eyes. I also suffer from tinnitus-ringing in the ears which is also difficult to deal with.

      Treatments

      Restasis Working / Worked
I am on Restasis 3 weeks-and it is just beginning to kick in. I find it expensive-but no other good options.
    • Open Family & Friends of Cancer Patients

I am a Registered Nurse with terminal pancreatic cancer. I was diagnosed in May 2007. I am on hospice. Both my wife and I find this difficult. I thought this group would be of help to us both-especially to my wife of 33 years.

    • Open Chemotherapy

I am a Registered Nurse with terminal Pancreatic Cancer. I was diagnoised in May 2007. I had four rounds of chemotherapy from May -August 2007. I have been through much. I thought by joining this group-I may be of support to others. Chemotherapy helped me extend my life by several months.

      Treatments

      Chemotherapy Working / Worked
Cut back my multiple tumors by more than 50%
      Marinol Working / Worked
Did not take-but have if needed to boost my appetite.
      Neulasta Working / Worked
Worked well-but shots hurt-drug is very expensive-but does the job of increasing white blood count.
      Zofran Working / Worked
Helped greatly to reduce nausea. Very expensive!-but worked well and continues to work with nausea symptoms.
    • Open Chronic Pain

I am a Registered Nurse with terminal pancreatic cancer. I was diagnosed in May 2007. I have chronic pain caused by my cancer. I wear a Fentanyl Patch and also take oxycodone on a regular basis.

      Treatments

      Morphine Working / Worked
I take Fentanyl rather than Morphine-but they are both strong opoids. Fentanyl Patch works well for me.
      Neurontin Working / Worked
Works for some of my neuropathic pain caused by extensive chemotherapy.
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
This works wel-and considering my terminal condition-I have no upper limit on this medication
