Close Addison's Disease
Discovered adrenal insufficiency after having 4 surgeries in 4 years and feeling so fatigued I could barely function. That and severe arthritis. Because I took low dose prednisone for several years, they don't know if it is Addison's or if the adrenals shut down due to the prednisone. It all remains unclear. Thyroid also doesn't work.
Treatments
- Cortisol Somewhat Helpful
- hate the side effects, has not helped the fatigue
- Cymbalta Somewhat Helpful
- Taking for depression - unsure if it contributes to tremors/sweats. It does work for depression. Not helpful for pain.
- Florinef Too Soon to Tell
- can't really tell
- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- works better than hydrocortisone for me

- Synvisc Too Soon to Tell

- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
- Helps a little bit, takes just the barest edge off.
- Voltaren Working / Worked
- Worked well for a long time, but had to stop taking due to stomach issues. Also afraid of cardiac effects.
Open Chronic Pain
I have some kind of arthritis that is eating all the cartilage in my joints. The pain is getting out of control and I fear disabiity. I"ve had one knee replaced, one ankle operated on, and my spine is a mess. I am not yet 50. I have worn out nsaids - can't take them anymore because of stomach problems. Ultram worked for a while, but now isn't enough. I am starting on narcotics and I hate that. I don't know where to turn for help on this.
