New Job!
I finally have been hired and started my new job last Friday with a telecommunications company here in Amarillo. After 9 long months the good Lord …
I enjoy life and people, as well as sometimes just keeping to myself. I have an interest in geology, both here on earth as well as our solar system. I do some amateur storm chasing in the spring, but I really like the winter and enjoy tooling around with my snow blower when we do get snow. I have one daughter and one grandson who just moved in with us while her husband is in Iraq for his second tour of duty. He will be moving to TX as he transfers to the Texas National Guard when he returns.

I am a 50 yr old male with Type 2 diabetes. My wife is Type 1 and has been for 39 years. She has multiple health problems due to her long term dealing with diabetes and not being as compliant as she should be. Since 1996 she's been hospitalized around 60 times. I'm the primary caregiver.
I've been the primary caregiver of my wife who has had Type 1 diabetes for 39 years, and we've been married 30 years. The last 11 years she's been hospitalized over 50 times with various diabetic complications & surgeries. She has memory lapses at times and generally the only time I get a "break" is when I'm at work or she's in the hospital. If you have to, take advantage of short term respite care. Usually a patient's doctor will be helpful in prescribing that through a local hospice.
My son-in-law is returning for his 2nd tour with the Army next month. My nephew has also seen combat in the Marine Corps in 2003. I'm a member of America Supports You - Texas and will help my daughter with 3 FRGs.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 in Sept 1996. Taking oral meds as well as injections. Doing pretty good, but need to lose the spare tire. Wife is Type 1 - had it for 41 years. There's been a lot of care giving stress & lack of intimacy the past 10 years.
