Journal Entry for July 29, 2008
I wrote this book to share my story with others who may be going through loss as well as taking on the responsibility of raising their …
I am a grandmother who raised my grandson. He turned 18 in January. Getting help as he grew was a real challenge. I kept having doors slammed in my face when I needed help. I found professionals who just did not know how to help. I wrote a book about our tory: "Has Anyone Seen My Daisy?" last year. I am presently working on my next book: Born Into Love. I am learning so much as I research this project and meeting many grandparents at rallies and on-line. We all have a story to be told.

Ok then. Guess I missed it. So I'll send it out tomorrow. I want to have this book that I wrote published by a real publisher. Who is your publisher?
denita
I haven't been paying attention as much as I use to because of the Sewing Shop I run. Did you ever get a book from me? If not let me know and I'll mail one to you. I thought I had, but I am not sure.
Love Denita

With all you have been through, you have the strength and presence to get through this.
We lost our daughter to a brain tumor and raised her son who just turned 18. After a tumultous year with his bio dad and mentall ill stepmom, the courts placed him in our care and eventually we adopted him to protect his rights. After walking into so many closed doors, I wrote a book: "Has Anyone Seen My Daisy?" to tell our story. I'm working on another book about grans and learning so much from people I meet. Looking to hear from more grans on the subject.
I lost my daughter to a malignant brain tumor 17 years ago. I have raised her son who just turned 18. He looks like her, has mannerisms like her, but is his own indiviual personality. I wrote these poems a few years ago as part of my book: "Has Anyone Seen My Daisy?" which is about her illness and death and his life. I hope they will peace and understanding to some. I w/need to add them on as there is not enough room in this section.
We adopted our grandson after our daugther died of a brain tumor. Long story short, the doctors think his bio dad's family suffer from Wilson's disease. They are of no help. We took gs in for migraines and insomnia and they now suspicion Wilson's. He had the slit lamp test and several blood tests with no definite diagnosis. He is to follow up every year with test because they feel it could change at any time. Liver biopsy was only if severe symptoms occur
