I am a mother to a sweet,loving 3 year old boy named TJ. I am joining this support group to hopefully meet other parents who are facing the same obstacles as I am. TJ has severe development delays and we still have no medical answer as to why.

Sheri, my youngest has been diagnioded with rett syndrome. she is a beautiful 8 year old. I wish you luck in your quest. remember one thing no matter the digniosis he is your TJ and always will be. life is short and to precious to sweat the small stuff. feel free to contact me with any questions

Hi Tjsmama, my name is Sheri, my great niece is going through testing to find out if she has Rett's also. She also falls into the autism spectrum, with mild retardation. She is simply beautiful if I don't mind saying myself! She is also 3, she has all the classic signs of Rett's, I looked it up online. I would love to be your friend and help or support you in any way I can, My niece, Katlin's mom will probably come on once in awhile to check up with you too, so there is someone out here who knows what you're going through. I pray for answers soon. sheri

Close Autism / Autism Spectrum
my 3 year old shows some characteristics of children with autism. His neurologist has agreed he seems to fall on the autism spectrum but doesnt want to diagnose him until she figures out the underlying cause which she believes to be genetic because of his preauricular ear pits, hair whorls,and single palmer creases.His genetic testing has not shown any problems though. Does anyone have an autistic child also diagnosed with a genetic disorder with those physical traits.He also doesnt talk or walk
Treatments
- Early Intervention Working / Worked
- he is in a early intervention program for developmental delays which includes speech,occupation,and physical therapy. He has made progress with these
- Occupational Therapy Working / Worked
- the therapist has given good insight as far as activites to encourage my son with activities to help him progress
Close Rett Syndrome
my son has developmental delays. he is 3 and isnt walking or talking. So far, his genetic testing hasnt shown any problems, but they now want to test for retts syndrome. Does anyone have a child with this. If so do they have ear pits,single palmer crease on the palm or any other "different"physical,mental characteristics
