Close Pulmonary Embolism
PE in Feb 08 "spectacular spray of clots across both lungs" which re-opened a PDA. I felt pretty awful for 6 months. Around 11 months really got my spark back. Now still get run down and sick very easily, still get twinges of chest pain when sick and building fitness. Fitter and more motivated in life than ever before!!
Treatments
- Coumadin Working / Worked
- Mostly good - some INR resistance
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I was diagnosed when I took part in a twin study on PCOS - aged 15. Didn't have symptoms (or get treatment) until early early 20s. Had PE so can no longer take the pill. Very frustrated with going back to my wayward hormones!
Treatments
- Aldactone Working / Worked
- Takes a long time to kick in, but worked for me!
Open Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
I had a PE in feb 08 - sudden chest pain, sweating and breathlessness from a DVT (I had no idea I had it).
