      I enjoy powerlifting. I have been diagnosed with polymyositis, but I am currently pain free and doing very well. I am living a healthy, active lifestyle with much spiritual enrichment. I must add, that I am VERY happily married for 10 1/2 years, with 3 beautiful children and a wonderful step-son! My husband is my best workout partner and my soul mate...plus...take a look at him!

      I have polymyositis and mctd, not neccessarily in that order. I have only in the last 6 weeks or so developed Raynaud's. It sucks!

      Treatments

      Norvasc Not Working
      It began working immediately. I cannot go a day without it.So far no side effects. Currently on 5 mg daily.
      Procardia XL Working / Worked
      havent started it yet

      I have a daughter who turned 7 in April. She will be in second grade. She is the sweetest, big hearted, funny kid i've ever encountered!

    • Open Polymyositis & Dermatomyositis

      I was diagnosed June 5th of 2007...my 35th birthday. I woke up one morning and couldn't swallow. When thyroid testing came back normal, we did an MRI and EMG. EMG was grossly abnormal. It went downhill from there. I'm much better today. Only taking 5mg of prednisone and 15mg of mtx. I am lifting again and working out like crazy!!! I am very grateful for that.

      Miracle drug...crappy side effects but miracle drug nonetheless.

      Dx with sjogren's a few months ago. Have mctd, polymyositis, raynaud's and now sjogren's.

      I guess its working...I thought it was the lasix I was taking that was making my mouth and eyes dry!!!

    • Open Diets & Weight Maintenance

      Eating Healthier Foods Working / Worked
      Eat Less Working / Worked
      NutriSystem Working / Worked
      Didn't do much for actualy weight loss. More for re-training
      Physical Exercise Working / Worked
      Running, ellip, lifting weights

    • Open Financial Challenges

      Hubby got laid off in Feb...still searching:(

      My son was dx with asperger's approx 4 years ago. He's 16 now and it's been a hell of a journey...
