About Me
I am married to my DH for 5 years and we have 2 wonderful children, ages 2 (daughter) and 1 (Son). I have had Crohn's disease for more than half my life and I currently have an ileostomy. I am a stay at home mom, which I love...By training I am an Elementary Teacher, but I am now putting my training to use with the children...My husband and I are currently thinking about having a third baby...yeah!!!

Interests
My family, of course! We also have 2 horses and numerous cats (we get all the neighbors cats, plus our own)...We are looking at getting a puppy, but I want to wait until the kids are a bit older. I love working in my garden and flower beds - can't wait to get dirty with the kids!!! I played womens hockey for many years, but not since having kids..

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 1989. I currently have an ileostomy - my second one. I have been on numerous meds, but am currently drug free!! I have had 2 c-sections due to ileostomy...I am contemplating a reversal but am a little scared of the toilet becoming my best friend again...

- Asacol Not Working
- I honestly cannot remember
- Azathioprine Somewhat Helpful
- Flagyl Somewhat Helpful
- Lomotil Working / Worked
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- But osteopenic as a result...I call it the ugly drug!
- Remicade Working / Worked
- Worked until I became resistant to it
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
Close Parenting Toddlers (1-3)
I have 2 children. My daughter is 28months and my son is almost 14 months. I am a teacher by training and a stay-at-home mom by choice, so I am joining to learn and get ideas from other parents and to give my support
