I got up early with a new zest, a zest that says that taking the high road is the road to take. Yes, my body feels like the normal pile dung that starts my day, there is no mistaking that. We did our prayers and headed out to feed and talk to the cows on this brisk morning.

Last month I purchased 4 pregnant Dexter Heifers, 1 Pregnant Scottish Highlander, 1 Dexter long legged bull and 1 Dexter Dwarf Bull. If you are not familiar to the breed they are Mini Cows that are 1/3 the size of a normal breed. Very Cute..low maintenance, and great pasture mowers but they are also great milk producers, and will fit nicely in my freezer. I was very apprehensive in getting them as I have been pretty much housebound the past two years, but I have their waters on auto fillers, and two tubs that I ring the bell to give them grain twice a day. There is plenty to eat, there is really no need to feed them grain other than the fact of taming them, and petting them. Therapeutic for me and my son.

The one that has responded the quickest to the bell was my favorite Maggie Mae the Fawn colored Scottish Highlander. She is a very rare breed and is incredibly sweet. You know the Scottish sheep dogs with all the curly long hair over the eyes? Well Maggie May has that too. I will post a pic soon. After two days of starting this project she allows me to pet her! So now I am off to start my yoga and get my son and I ready to tackle the day....but somehow I think we are ahead of the game.
