About Me
Married since December, 1973. 3 children, 7 grandkids. I was diagnosed as having Asperger's about 1 1/2 years ago. I am on SSDI. All of my life, my IQ scores were marveled at, but I never accomplished anything of any significance. I couldn't understand what the problem was. Finally I was told that I have executive functioning problems. The diagnosis would probably never been made except for a deep depression and memory loss after bypass surgery.

Thanks
Hi there! I read your response and wanted to pass you along a hug of thanks. It's my dad who has AS. He has good ideas but applies them according to his own logic. It's been tough on me because I have been expected to follow through on things he decides.
I already have a degree, but I've been looking to change careers. My father has been having a hard time understanding why his method might not be the best way at this point and time. Hopefully he'll come around!

Close Heart Failure
In Jan 2001 I thought I was having a bronchial problem. X-rays showed an enlarged heart. I joked that I had "a big hearted nature." Two weeks later I had swollen ankles after work. The next day I was taken to see my doctor, and was admitted to the hospital. I had had a silent heart attack in December. CHF was diagnosed and I received a bypass x3. I had a defibrillator implanted. I noticed a loss of memory and a change in personality. The time on the operating table took a toll on my brain.
