Journal Entry for May 15, 2007 Mood
Tuesday, May 15, 2007
Well I was at chemo only 3 hours today. Compared to the first time this one was easier and quicker. I slept most of the time and that's odd for me. They called in a script for Miracle Wash for my mouth. Tomorrow I get the Neulastin shot. All my blood counts were within normal range. I've been told for years I was a tough bird (because I've survived so much in my life time) and today the nurse varified that when she said I have thick skin. lol Actually she had to use the heating pad on my arm again to get a vein. My skin is not thick, it's just my veins are deeper than others. My poor body is weird, weary, and worn but I praise the Lord anyway for He is good.

Oh I hated the Neulastin shots. But it did help so praise the Lord. I hope your mouth gets better. I am so happy that your blood counts are good. It is a blessing. You are strong and the Lord is with you. God Bless.

Do you not have a port-a-cath or PIC line? Prevents their having to stick you every time. Much more convenient - BUT my port-a-cath was the source of my bad infection and had to be removed, so you're probably better without one.
I'll be so glad with your treatments are all completed -- you're such a lively, energetic person -- this being sick is "crampin' your style"! :-) Bless your heart, sweet lady.

Jessie I don't have a port-a-cath or pic line because my treatments won't be lasting that long. I have twelve weeks of treatment, one treatment every three weeks. If I were having more treatments she would have used a port but thank God I don't need one. I would rather do it this way than to take the risk of infection through a port. I had the mammosite and I was scared all the time of getting staff infection through that opening. Thank you Jessie. I'm usually very active in my home life and I'm not used to not being able to do what I normally do. Today my step daughter is here cleaning, helping out. Thank God for that.

Pix, I don't like the Neulastin shots either. I'm hurting today and I've had to take a pain pill.
