I had the scariest day ever today. It all started when I woke up at 3am with my upper back and chest hurting. I thought it was just muscular so I took Tylenol and went to bed. I woke up a few hours later hurting again and now spotting. I wasnt too concerned about the spotting since it was brown and I have done that here and there. My OB isnt concerned either. SO I was trying to take a nap and rest because I was just so exhausted when I woke up to myself bleeding heavily. I screamed for DH who was in the living room. He came running and took one look and started pulling out clothes for me. He drove like a lunitic to the ER. I have never been so scared in my life. I just couldnt understand how I could make it to practically the 2nd trimester (13w3d) and have them leave me.
We got to the ER and only waiting about 5 minutes before they called me back. I was shaking so bad and my heart rate was so high. They put me in a room and hooked me up to an IV. They then took me to get an ultrasound. I was petrified. DH couldnt be in the room so that really sucked. The tech wasnt saying anything so finally I said "well are they ok?" She said yes I have two heartbeats. WHEW! She wanted me to empty my bladder and I had to pull a Britney Spears and walk into the bathroom barefoot YUCK!!! Come to find out everything looked fine. She was going to guess on the sexes but totally chickened out lol. Oh well. She also gave us some really good pictures..bless her!
Then the dr wanted to get a CT scan b/c one of my labs came back weird that I might have a bloodclot. Great the one time I wasnt a hypocondriac came to bite me in the butt was all I was thinking. That was pretty freaky b/c they tell you all these risks to the babies and they cover your belly with the lead aprins. I have never had iodine before and that was so weird! You get super hot from your ears to your toes. Finally after 6.5 hrs we find out that my chest pain is probably muscular (like I thought) and I had a threatened miscarriage. What a scary term! He put me on bedrest for one week and wants me to follow up with my OB.
Please just keep us in your prayers. These little munchkins still need time to "cook!"

Oh my goodness!!!!!! I will totally be praying for you and you precious little ones! How totally scary! Please keep us up to date on how you and the babies are doing, so we know how to pray! Hang in there, and make sure you really stay on bedrest for the entire week....no fudging! Take care of yourself, mama! I'll be praying that everything will be fine. (and you are already in the 2nd trimester, you know)

Sooooo glad everything worked out okay. And I was feeling so happy that I needn't worry about our little Amber and troops anymore. HEY! I have to send you my new old phone number. My daughter had a high risk twin pregnancy, and both girls are doing well now. She was on bedrest for 3 months. Born at 32 weeks, they are home, healthy and happy all due to my daughters willpower and everyones prayers. Hang in there. An awful scare for sure. Please keep us posted. Are they your first babies?

Oh my goodness, that is a horrible scare. The good news is they did still see two heartbeats. Focus on the positive. Take your bedrest orders seriously, it may be what makes the difference to how the pregnancy progresses. Did they give you any more answers to what caused the bleeding? Personally I would want more answers than just "threatened miscarriage". You should call you regular OB and follow up with them... you might get more answers because they know you better. Rest, rest, rest. I will be sending prayers for you and your little ones.

hi that is something awful you have went through and i hope bed rest helps and you an your babies are ok. please please please if your on bedrest stay on it. i have just lost my first grandbaby my daughter was 11wks and died at 8wks. i am prayring for you and your babies please follow the instructions to a tee.

Will hold good thoughts for your family. I had bleeding with both my pregnancies. Our first were BG twins. They are now healthy 34 year olds. Forced bedrest kept them from being born 2 months early so when your doctor said bedrest..do it! Wasn't much fun, but I had healthy babies with no complications at birth. Remember to be positive and feel blessed that God has chosen you for their Momma.

Hello you don't know me, but started to read your story from a notification I got from all of the communities I belong to, and decided to add my prayers for both your little babies, and you.
One thing though that worried me, does your OB know that you are taking Tylenol while pregnant???
when I was pregnant, I was told not to take anything except for my prenup vitamins, so just so you know you might consult with your doctor about that, please.
