Dear J,
"What does the recent ruling against the government mean?" Oh, well, uh....that what I've been saying for twelve years is true---there's school corruption and rampant retaliation against whistleblowers; I'm going tomorrow to tell Dad "The Rest of the Story". (June 15 is not only Mom and Dad's wedding anniversary; something else happened in Berkeley on that date and I've never been the same.)
Santa Barbara is The Perfect Storm of Injustice: We have the best teachers, parents, and students---and the worst of school administrators, politicians, and publicly-employed cronies. Read the Main Page of sbschooltalk.com. This is the biggest scandal in the history of the United States. (America's Second Civil War: The Public-Employment Complex vs. The Taxpayer by Dr. Lewis Andrews of yankeeinstitute.org)
Bernie Madoff had a whistleblower for nine years; my colleagues have been at it for twenty-two years. Superior Court Judge Denise de Bellefeuille was a member of Joan Esposito's DARC's Board of Directors.
There's a "Cry of Players," a cast of hundreds in town, and millions in the nation: The Whistleblowers, Mothers From Hell (Special Education), Padres Unidos (School to Prison Pipeline), The Phoenix (Education Reform Models such as Starr King and OAS), and Apple Corps (grass-roots mobilization ala Paul Hawken's book, Blessed Unrest).
Santa Barbara and my colleagues will be rather well-known in the annals of history.
I was figuratively "gang-raped" by a government "complex"---twice---in public---first the landmark administrative school due process, criminal cases, compliance complaints and the civil lawsuit---and now this---I ran for the school district board of education to expose corruption---and so I have.
I used my candidate's statement and five-minute video to throw down the gauntlet---then, I let them HAVE IT at a Candidate's Forum---I HAD A PLAN... just as Dad and Hanne Sonquist taught me. Holy Canoli....it worked like a charm.
The entire complex of school administrators, D.A., County Counsel, politicians, and law enforcement were entangled in something that I took pains to get in writing or on audio and video-tape---and it didn't take any money---just panache. There are two more pieces of the puzzle to put in place...and for that I need patience and faith---my strong suits.
I have seven more "in pro per" filings---small claims and Qui Tams (the whistleblower's federal legislation) that will expose wrong-doing and bring down a corrupt government. (I haven't posted the dozens of videos online yet....and much is still "underwraps," hidden from public view.)
Unfortunately, the judge denied my request to video-tape in her courtroom---she asked me questions and her jaw DROPPED at my anwers....I would have loved that on video.
Something has started that can't be stopped: Truth, Justice, and "the American Way" is in constant conflict with "Humorless Arrogance, Illusory Prestige, Brute Force, and Primeval Stupidity." And as in every play ever written, Truth Will Out, Justice Prevails, and Love Conquers All.
That's my dissertation! In a play, however, time is neatly condensed and we can see the beginning, middle and end. In life, it can take longer; as one lawyer quoted: "The Law is not dead, though it hath slept." (Shakespeare).
Will I get my money back? Maybe, but my first requests, in a taped conversation, is for the expungement of my arrest record, a correction of the school district boundary line, and a letter of apology that I can give to Dad.
(I've been telling Dad to "hang in there" for twelve years and for twelve years he's replied "Well, I'm doing my damnedest but HURRY UP!)
My dissertation is a re-articulation of Aristotelian theory of theatre....but I didn't want to learn Greek, and stay in school for four years---(I hate reading plays but I love watching them); I won't get my Ph.D.......but I do deserve a Gold Star for my "chutzpah, synchronicity, and pluck."
I know this is a long answer to your short question....but you asked for it.
Love,
Sister Kayanne
P.S. My dissertation was essentially given to me by UCB's Professor Travis Bogard. Dad published my master's thesis, which was embarrassing because I took out the first chapter---the dissertation prospectus--- and gave it to Professor Henry Goodman to satisfy a UCLA course requirement. Still, the title stands: THE OXYMORONIC ELEMENT IN "THE WAY OF THE WORLD."
I refused to add the playwright's name, William Congreve, in front of the play title, "The Way of the World" because I always hoped I would have a chance to prove it true. Professor Bogard rejected my dissertation in the 1970's because there was no way that "All the world's a stage" could be a virtual reality---but once the world-wide web appeared, he agreed that if I had a court case and a national issue---and a lot of chutzpah, synchronicity, and pluck---my dissertation could be proven. Unfortunately, he died five years ago.

I'm forwarding this for the wonderful photo -- unfortunately, since it's a pdf, I can't delete the "forward in 5 mins" foolishness
