Please. Tell me this Mr. President.
Do you really care?
Can you really feel the pain,
Without ever being there?
Have you ever lost someone,
Closer than just a friend?
Brother, sister, daughter, son.
Have you ever lost someone?
Do you know how it feels,
To have your heart ripped out?
Nothing else could hurt so much.
It causes hope to turn to doubt.
There are no words to explain the pain.
Searing heat seems to tear you in two.
Then the numbness sets in,
You're alone, lost, empty and blue.
Can you ever begin to know?
Is there a chance I ask?
I pray you never, ever feel the pain.
I pray this war is the last.

I'm with you. My oldest grandson is almost 18 and my biggest fear is that he'll enlist. We need these young people here at home, getting educated, starting their families, and living their lives. Have a good one!
