Elliott our beloved grandson
I want to thank each and everyone of my DS friends for sustaing us during the past two weeks.
After our 16 year old grandson …
I met my husband at age 13 and have been happily married for 47 years. We have two great sons, their lovely wives and 5 wonderful grandchildren, we are fortunate to see them all frequently. My husband had a stroke 3 years ago and is now fully recovered. He is a loving gentle, quiet man who supports me in everything I do, we both enjoy the company of close long term friends. We've had a lot of serious health worries in the family. I retired from my post as a head teacher 10 years ago because of kidney failure, our eldest son had Hodgekins Disease(now fully recovered) and our 14 year old grandson is registered blind but uses the vision he has to good effect. We are a close knit family all support each other.. Since a double hip replacement 4 years ago I've been registered disabled but that does not hold me back from leading a very busy life.

Ten years ago when we retired we got our beloved Bichon Frise, she came everywhere with us, all holidays were planned with her in mind . She was the dearest little girl and in her 10 years we never heard her growl. Her tail was always up and she loved people. On Sunday, despite our vet trying everything she was in such discomfort with her heart and unable to respond to a cocktail of drugs, she was euthanised. We are devastated and don't know what to do or where to turn for comfort.
Our son was diagnosed with Hodgekins Lymphoma,15 years ago and we thank God that after 6 months of chemo followed by radium treatment he has now well . At this time a very dear friend who is also the mother of our beloved daughter-in-law is being treated for secondary cancer. The original treatment for breast cancer 3 years ago was delayed through a series of medical mishaps and these secondaries are the terrible outcome. There seems so little we can do except be there to listen and assist.
