About Me
I am a Cough Variant Asthmatic, which is a rare form of asthma. It has some different effects like violent coughing, the pulse ox will show 100%, passing out during attacks, etc. I have had this since I was six. At one point, asthma ruled my life, but now I am independant and living life to its fullest. I love snowboarding and surfing along with bodyboarding. I am very active and my asthma will never take control of me again!

every day is a new day, focus on you're getting better, & push a little harder, it will get better. I know I am recouperating from a broken neck caused by auto accident. My shoulder is very painfull, cannot lift anything, my rotator cuff is broken. Cannot have surgery until my neck is healed. I keep trying & pushing a little more each day. It DOES GET BETTER. carsti

Type: Cough Variant AsthmaI have Cough Variant Asthma. It is a little different because I don't weaze at all, and I violently cough during attacks. I was diagnosed at age 6. It is very uncommon, and my parents have taken me all over the country to different doctors with not a huge improvement. I'm only 16 and at my wits end. I am looking for people with CVA to kind of let me know that what I am going through is normal...
Treatments
- Advair Somewhat Helpful
- It is okay, but I have to keep adjusting the amounts which is bothersome. It is also easy to run out of when you take it twice a day. Overall, it is pretty good.
- Albuterol Somewhat Helpful
- Does not work immediately. Makes me very shaky and unstable.
- Singulair Somewhat Helpful
- Works to keep me symptom free during the night.

My dad is in the Air Force and works at the Pentagon. I have been in 9 schools, lived in 7 states and in 15 houses. He has deployed once for 4 months.
