    • About Me

I am a mum to my two sons and I also have two step children and three ( soon to be four) step grandsons, so life is never dull. I work as a Physiotherapy Technician in the local mental Health Hospital on the acute adult ward promoting exercise. This helps me to keep fit too, as my days are filled with circuit training, swimming, rambling etc. I have joined this support group as my son has Narcolepsy, and this is all very new to us. We have lots to learn.

    • Hug

      From AshCee April 23

Hi ANNIE, been a long time, great news about your son, it`ll give him an edge dealing with disabilities across the board and without realising it helps come to terms with being disabled oneself, which can be a dilema and struggle in itself. Hope you r happy and healthy, would have thought so in that SW air, love Sommerset, especially Watchit and Nettlecombe Court area. Best wishes ASHxxx

      From AshCee January 18

Hi Annie, just lettin` yer know you are`nt alone out there, and are doing a selfless terrific job being in the trenches as it were with us struggling NARCS. Hope you feel better about things, I`m sure you know it, but you are a "super hero" for the work and caring you do, but you still need some TLC and to get away from it all. R&R to refresh your batteries, best wishes love ASHLEYXXX

    • Close Narcolepsy

My son was diagnosed with N&C in March 2008. He had suffered with terrible halucinations on a daily basis for a year.He also suffers with EDS and cataplexy, Consequently he missed a large number of his uni lectures through sleeping and being generally unwell and depressed. This unfortunately meant that he failed several of his exams and is currently doing his resits. Give him his due, since being on his meds he has got back to study and is doing his utmost to try and pass his first year.

      Treatments

      Provigil Working / Worked
Manages to stay awake for most lectures now.
      Clonazepam Working / Worked
Has minimized halucinations dramatically except when really stressed
