In May 06, our 10 year old grand daughter came to live with us. Our son, her father is unable to care for her properly and her mother was married to an abusive man who dreadfully abused our wee one. We have had her in therapy since 8/06. She has been hospitalized 2 times so far. This is all due to the abuse she has suffered at the hands of her parents and stepparents. We are trying hard to get her the help she needs and offer her all the love and support she deserves. It is difficult at times.
hi, i am a 52 year old female. i am married to a pwecious 62 year old man. we have been married for 15, soon to be 16 years, in august. on our 5 month wedding anniversary, we were in a near fatal car wreck, on new year's eve. that changed life as we knew it. now we are BUSY raising a 12 year old grand daughter. her parents, one being our son, are not able to care for her. so i am a caregiver for my husband who has post polio, plus other issues. my issues, and the grandbaby's issues.
I am the wife/caregiver of a precious 63 year old husband who has post polio syndrome. He had polio in the 1952 epidemic, was 7 years old, and was in the hospital for over year, not expected to survive. We have been together over 18 years, married for almost 16. We have shared harley rides, mountain climbs, 4 children, 15 grandchildren, we now share PT, breathing machines, leg braces, and being parents again to one of our grands. We care for each other and try to stay close in spite of the pain.
my oldest daughter, now 34 years old, came down with GBS when she was 4 years old. after her first spinal tap, they told me she would either get better or die. well, we brought her to atlanta to egeleston at emory. she had hourly PT to try and prevent muscle damage. i am happy to say that she just had twins , has a wonderful 18 year old daughter, a great husband. she owns her own grooming business & trains, breeds & sells show dobermans. she still has phantom pain in her legs. but she's alive!
