glad to hear that you're doing well. by the end of this month, you'll be on your feet (so to speak!). just keep eating fruit and in a year or so (that's what "they" say) you'll be back to normal. for me after 7 months, i am feeling fine but my intestines are still not the way they were. but, i am not worried about infection, er's, meds, pain and worry and that is just wonderful. the rest will come and i will deal with the bumps as long as they're bumps and not mountains. let's keep in touch and compare notes.
    stay WELL.

well, i vaguely remember having that feeling but it does go away. everything has gone and i am forgetting (happily) all of it. my only real issue now is that i must eat prunes/apricots/raisins in order to maintain regularity. my intestines do feel a little paralyzed or numb. not the old "urge" of before surgery. i can live with that and must, but i'm not a fruit eater and it's just something i need to remember to do. since you only had the surgery less than 2 weeks ago and you're already feeling quite good, don't get too agitated over some odd things like cramps, etc. your body will tell you if there is something really wrong = fever, extreme pain, swelling, oozing, etc. i am amazed that you are doing so well. i am sure that you will be 99% in another 10 days. just don't overdo anything and take advantage of this time when people are understanding and often willing to help. hope the weather wherever you are is good. it is wretched here and has been for almost TWO months.
    cheers,
    sally

hi spunkie - b/c i have a herniated disc, i have taken vicodin and percocet (interchangeably)for about 2 years. after your body becomes used to the medication, all it does is quell the pain. i think, b/c i'd used vicodin for back pain, that's why it didn't help my divertic. surgery pain well. that's why i got the percocet and i have used it ever since (one tablet at bedtime) for pain that builds up during the day. i have been completely healed from the surgery since mid-january, about 6 weeks post op. you will be too, if not sooner. now, if i could just get my back fixed!!!
    feel perfect SOON!
