I just retired after MANY years in Real Estate here in Mass. (Perfect timing since RE is bad and I've been sick!) Kids are grown but I have 2 dogs that keep me busy. Signed on to see what "cures" are out there for Diverticulitis.. NOW, I have to sign on to a new group.. just diagnosed with Shingles! Who knew these things existed except for OTHER people! :)

Interests
Since I have been SO busy with work and before that raising kids, I hope to organize everything in my house. 40 years worth of pictures, get into family geneology, take classes, join a walking group, etc. However, these 3 mos of '08 have been awful. I am never sick! Til now..

Close Diverticulitis
I have just had my first "attack" in January '08 with a visit to the ER. Went on Cipro and Flagyl and felt better after the meds. However, now there has been another flare up and now I am extremely concerned about my future health.
Treatments
- Cipro Working / Worked
- The ER put me on 750 mg Cipro 2 X day and 500 Flagyl 3 X a day. It worked well, and they had given me Flagyl intravenously in the ER. The Cipro really wiped me out. When I went to a GP, he cut me back to 1 Cipro a day and 2 Flagyls -
Close Shingles
I joined DS because I had my first episode of Diverticulitis so needed to hear about others with this.. NOW, I have Shingles! I can't believe this.. as I've always been well.
Treatments
- Valtrex Too Soon to Tell
- Just started it yesterday after Dr. diagnosed the rash on my neck.. Well see.
