Thank you...ive been sober now going on 5 months!!! i was a user for 2 years and got send to rehab and i had to stay clean...im not only doing for my self im doing it for my mom and my dad..my only to bestfriends..but thank you again...Take care..here if you ever need to talk...

Close Bipolar Disorder
My son was diagnosed with Bipo at the age of 9. Which he has a severe case and also a violent one. He has been in 8 or 9 mental facilities/hospitals in the last 3 years and even had one Psych dr. give up and say he no longer knew how to help my son. My son has been on 19 differant meds since he was 4 and your list only covers what he is on now. Later I will go over the other ones. Several of which he had severe reactions. To the point that his Psych drs. don't want to place him on anything else.
Treatments
- Abilify Working / Worked
- this one works great and helps control his violent rages. He is taking 15 mg a day.
- Depakote Working / Worked
- We took him off this one because it helped some on lower doses, but when he was increased he was on overload on it caused him to have hand and tongue tremors.
- Fish Oil Working / Worked
- Took him off because we found that with the help from his karate instructor he no longer needed this one.
- Group Therapy Working / Worked
- this only helps if he wants to participate at that time
- Tenex Working / Worked
- Took him off because it helped for a short time and then made no differance
Close ADHD / ADD
I have a son almost 11 that is ADHD, Bipolar, ODD; and a son who will be 9 this month. I have been dealing with this for almost 7 years now and have been through 22 differant medications for my oldest as well as many hospitalizations.
Treatments
- Adderall Not Working
- Caused a blistering rash on my oldest sons arms and face
- Clonidine Working / Worked
- Worked extremely well for over three years on my son but caused a Heart Arythmia so they had so take him off.
- Concerta Somewhat Helpful
- It work for almost a year until he began having involentary eye and head movements and then a full blown sesure.
- Focalin Not Working
- Did nothing to help
- Ritalin Working / Worked
- Works for my youngest son but my oldest was on this at the age of four or five and was taken off after three days when he was extremely hyper for 20 hours plus at a time
- Strattera Not Working
- It did work for a little while but my oldest had to be taken off of it because it caused excessive weight gain that was to much for his body to handle.
- Fish Oil Working / Worked
- This is working somewhat along with my oldests other medications to help control his impulsives and you can buy it over the counter. But need to get an ok from the dr 1st
Open Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
I have two boys with mental illnesses. I have been dealing with this in daily life for 9 years and looking for anyone who can share advice.
Open Angina
my husband went into the hospital for chest pain and shortness of breath. There he spent 4 days in CCU and 3 days in a private room. His diagnosis: high blood pressure, high cholestrol, angina, emphazemia, kidney disease and that they are functioning 25%. He is on ten prescriptions a day.
Open Dialysis
My husband was diagnosed with kidney desease Aug. 2007. This May he was once again hospitalized and i thought we were going to loose him. He is now on dialysis three days per week. He is currently in a nursing home as we have been waiting for his medicaid to go through since Nov. 2007.
Treatments
- Dialysis Working / Worked
- His dialysis makes him sick and naseated most days. He has become very weak.
