Campral's my hero. When I first tried to sober up I was given this and Ativan to chill out the severe withdrawal. It got me on the road but of course, my twisted little evil lizard brain convinced me I must be able to drink normally again and I tried again after 45 days or so. 5-HTP (supplement) and Alpha Lipoic Acid helped with my moods too. I'm not depressive but your brain is up and down like crazy when you quit and I found I'd be down one minute and up the next. Good luck! Hugs. I'm here if you need!

Close Bipolar Disorder
I was diagnosed with BP when I was 20 and pregnant with my first son, although my mom says she could tell that there was something "not quite right' with me around the age of 12. I am still struggling finding the right meds, but hopefully I will soon!
Treatments
- Depakote Working / Worked
- I took it a few years ago and it worked some, didn't like the weight gain, but I think the benifits outweight the negatives :)
- Geodon Working / Worked
- I am on it now as part of a clinical study, pretty sure I have the actual drug and not just the placebo, it's helping a lot other that intensifying the side effects of lithium
- Group Therapy Somewhat Helpful
- I am super shy so I never really opened up. But it was helpful being around others with the same problem
- Lithium Working / Worked
- A life saver, really helping, a a lot!
- Risperdal Somewhat Helpful
- Took it in combo with depakote
- Seroquel Not Working
- It made me tired to the point that I couldn't function
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- I didn't ever see any difference, didn't help, had some side effects but I can't remember what! lol
