Hi Folks! Well we had, first of all, a wonderful Anniversary, our first! Can you believe Colleen and I met on DS and actually got married a year ago? What are the odds against that, especially when neither one of us said on our profiles we were "looking". In fact the opposite was true. We were definitely NOT looking. But there you go.
We are trying to get photos on DS, but are having some troubles. There are some photos on "myspace", but we will keep trying. Well we had ADVENTURE. The second day, we ended up going down the Columbia River Gorge, which is so beautiful with its many waterfalls. We went up to the old overlook, right on top, 2,000 or 3,000 feet up. It was stormy, with a mix of rain and snow. We got out of the truck, stupidly, I couldn't but barely get my door open. The wind crushed my leg in the door. It was blowing, I am NOT joking about 150 mph. We somehow managed to get to the building, but couldn't see because the wind was so bad. Colleen I was afraid was going to blow clear away, but she made it back to the truck. Me, my foot being amputated in half, well balance is hard, and I thought the wind was going to just pick me up and blow me away like some big red bird.
We had a great trip! It is hard to describe even by photo how magnificently beautiful Oregon can be, especially the coast. I took Colleen to many many places I knew about, of great beuty that non-natives don't know of. We saw all manor od wildlife, deer, elk, beaver, muskrat, all manner of birds. We did not see bear to our sadness, but they might be getting close to hibernation, as it was chilly there.
I have good geelings and some hard ones too from my childhood there, but cling to the good and let the rest fall by the wayside. Of course, I told her MANY of my tales, which are quite unbelievable I guess. They really did happen, but I admit I add color! Ha!
Colleen cried just about all the way back. I held her and I thin k she wants to move there! Well, we will see. I'll live anywhere as long as she is by my side! But the family is here as well! Blessings! Wally and Colleen

A love by your side seems to make the world almost a perfect place doesn't it. I love hearing such a romantic tale as yours.

Sounds like a great time.
I had to smile about the fact that neither of you were "looking" Was the same thing for us - I was never going to get remarried - Oh well 14 years on ----LOL
Yes there are some places that really touch us - I felt the same way when I went to visit my friends in Darwin - I cried all the way home too. Went there to live 12 months later. Best thing I ever did. Good luck with whatever you decide to go and wherever you go in the future.

So very glad that you had such a wonderful time. Isn't love grand!!! sorry Colleen didn't get to see any big bad bears but maybe next trip. It was probably for the best since you wanted to wrestle them!!! HA!! Good luck in your future. Like you said, it won't matter where you live as long as you are with each other. Take care and have a great day.
