Close Chronic Pain
Upper bck/shldr pain rt side since c.1978;Sciatica pain lft side since c. 1995;L knee pain since c.1996;Tops shlders/neck pain/stiff both sides since c. 2000;L. foot Plantar fasciitis once c. 1998,again 2006 - better w. treatment, not gone;Worsening L.knee pain 2006, even worse w. PT for lower back (spondylolisthesis)-X-ray showed nothing;MRI showed torn meniscus;Arthroscopic knee surgery for torn meniscus 10/07-knee still not "right" as of 2/08
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Not Working
- months & months over the yrs w. dif. chiro's, all to no avail
- Flexeril Not Working
- tried for dental pain, hoped would be helpful w. other conditions - discontinued due to perceived side effects
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- soothing but no lasting relief
- Naproxen Not Working
- Tried acetominophen, then aspirin, then ibuprofen, then OTC naproxen, then Rx naproxen - still in pain
- Physical Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- Can't say that all PT modes are totally ineffective for me, but combinations of e-stim (TENS?), ultrasound, massage and exercise have left me still in pain
- TENS Too Soon to Tell
- the few minutes 1-2X a week in PT not enough-maybe if I had my own unit and could use it for hours at a time???
- Acupuncture Working / Worked
- After many months over yrs w. dif. practitioners no effect
- Prolotherapy Working / Worked

- took before I took naproxen

- I don't even know why I'm still taking it
- Physical Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- what I've had so far hasn't helped & some of it has made some conditions worse
- Stretching Somewhat Helpful
- healthy thing to do but have to be careful because I have so many different pain issues
- TENS Not Working
- 1x a wk as part of PT - ineffective
- Prolotherapy Working / Worked
